Heather Dahl is a full-time studio potter and painter from Vancouver, Canada. She graduated with a major in ceramics and painting from the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in 2001, with a dream to become a full-time artist and maker. After teaching ceramics and having a family, in 2007 Heather brought her love of painting and ceramics together under one roof and called it ‘Dahlhaus’. Known for combining modern, Scandinavian and vintage inspired designs onto handmade pottery and ceramics, many of the patterns for pots are also influenced by abstract paintings from her Art school days.
I'm inspired by the simple act of making. There are always new directions to pursue and small decisions that can change the look or feel of a pot. I am inspired by place and memory, thrift shopping and traveling.
