I have been self employed as a designer since 1998, first under the brand name Astrosatchel, and now as Winterluxe Recycled Cashmere. During this time I have been fortunate to work with fellow artists to create events that give designers and artists venues to show our work, including Shiny Fuzzy Muddy and First Pick Handmade, having drawn on my experience as an artist travelling across Canada to show my own creations. I currently live and work in Vancouver's East Side, with regular trips to the north shore mountains.

I believe that, as designers, it is important to consider our impact on the environment. This notion has led me, over time, to favour working with increasing amounts of recycled textiles. For my Winterluxe line, I chose to work with discarded cashmere exclusively to bridge the gap between high end, luxury fabrics and green fashion. I have been working to create products that look and feel brand new, yet utilize as much of the original sweater as possible.

Working with such a medium allows me to create a repeatable, yet one of a kind, sellable collection, whereby the same style of item is available in an array of textures and colours.
